 After the Japanes attack on Pearl Harbor, Americans were pretty discouraged so President Roosevelt insisted that our armed services come up with a counter attack. Jimmy Doolittle came up with a plan to launch B-25 bombers from aircraft carriers an bomb Tokyo. The problem was that B-25's had never taken off from aircraft carriers before and no one was sure that it could be done. The Japanese believed that their country would never be attacked. Doolittle's Raiders bombed several factories in Tokyo and lifted the spirits of Americans. |
